[Javascript] embedded vs external

Hi gang:

I have an embedded javascript that I want to take to an external file 
and load it in that way. However, when I do, the script doesn't run 
any more. Can all embedded script be removed and placed in a file for 
import? I thought so, but I'm not sure any more.

PPS: Sue, I also added a fade, but it doesn't work for Opera.
