[Javascript] escaping (

i parse a string into a prompt() box including a ( and ),
the function to parse get's it this way:
prompt_link('xxxxxx(yyyy)zzzz')
the debugger tells me "expecting ( in line...",
can i escape the ( with \( or similar?
