Actually - start looking to the latest JVM's for something called "transparent persistence" and you may find what you can use. Doesn't work right now everywhere - but eventually will. This is still at an object level, not at a memory block level. We former c/assem programmers miss real memory and real fast programs. Is there any file system which is equivalent to memory mapped files concept in VC++? How can I achieve this feature using java? I want to use this feature for fast I/O operations. If you can send me some information on this it will be great.
