Subject: applet signing

Hi all,
I am interesting in signing an applet so that it can escape the sandbox and
access files and other servers.
Does anyone know a URL that points to a good how-to that explains what
needs to
be done. The applet needs to run with JDK 1.1.x and JDK 1.2.x, in Netscape
and
IE.
Thanks,
Ralph
