I use emacs myself. You can get addons for it, I have one for Java, it 
works well for me.
And you can do so many things with emacs besides just java.
Get it for win32 here: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/windows/ntemacs.html
And I'd be happy to field questions about using the most flexible, extensible
editor in the world.
